Meisje opgesloten in kleine ruimte

Lees Jesaja 28:17

I saw before me a room so dark. I wondered if any light had ever found its way in. The windows were boarded, and the doors nailed shut completely. There seemed to be no way in, nor any way out.

Inside was a child of such beauty. She sat there alone, tears streaming down her face, falling onto her toes and the floor. Her clothes were in tatters, and strewn around her were broken pieces. I asked softly what the pieces were, and the answer came… her heart and her dreams.

I wanted to touch her, to help in some small way. The pain in her eyes, the hopelessness I saw… I will never forget. I could hear the words she spoke as she cried. She prayed and begged God to take her life. For hours upon relentless hours, she sobbed in great pain.

And then she stood, slowly as she was very weak. She took tiny steps until she finally reached one of the doors. I watched as she hesitated, looking down, and then slowly brought her hand up to meet the boards that held their barriers. “God I don’t know if you can even hear me, but if you can and if you care, could you please find a way inside…”

Immediately water began to push under the doors, and small cracks opened in the walls as water pressed in. The roof began to shake, and a foundation built in fear began to shift.

I then saw what the dark room was made of: Fear, secrecy, pain, and most of all shame. The walls had mocking engraved everywhere on them, and the clay the walls were built of was lies. I began to cry as I looked back at the beautiful child.

It’s not a wonder she had lost herself in such a place as this. She thought it was a safe castle from the hurt. I doubt she ever meant for things to be this way.

She had given up her destiny… to hide from an enemy. She doesn’t yet know that it isn’t too late.

The look of surprise was clear upon her face as the waters of truth flowed in around her. The water came in strong, yet she never seemed afraid. She knew she would die if she stayed in this place. There was nothing left to do but let God come in.
